We are going to help trap and desex the stray cats in sham tseng as there were 3 cats poisoned recently. The residents are always complaining that the cats are a nuisance.

貓殺手入侵深井三流浪貓遭毒殺

深井區三隻流浪貓被人發現倒斃於廣場對開路邊，懷疑遭毒殺。有貓義工擔心殺貓歪風吹入區內，繼續有可憐貓咪遇害。該區區議員表示，首次接獲流浪貓離奇死亡個案，現正着手調查事件。
口吐白沫倒卧路邊 上周三(二日)凌晨六時許，有街坊發現兩隻成年貓和一隻幼貓奄奄一息，倒卧深井陳記廣場對開路邊位置，口吐白沫，更有失禁迹象，懷疑中毒，在場街坊憂心不已，卻愛莫能助，三隻貓咪最終失救死亡。在附近進行清潔的工人見狀，將貓咪屍體棄置垃圾箱處理。
對於三隻流浪貓無故死亡，區內愛貓人士、居民兼貓義工羅先生認為，該三隻貓相信並非自然死亡，擔心貓殺手已入侵區內，並會繼續犯案，於是立即聯絡荃灣郊區東區議員陳偉明跟進事件。
區議員正調查事件
陳偉明表示，首次接獲區內流浪貓懷疑被人毒死個案，現正派員向廣場職員和街坊了解事件。他又透露，不時接獲區內居民投訴流浪貓滋擾民居，惟仍需時進行觀察調查。
貓義工羅先生指出，區內的海韻花園和陳記廣場，都參加了愛護動物協會的動物絕育計畫，並與香港貓咪俱樂部合作，為流浪貓絕育，義工會定期餵飼流浪貓，希望減低流浪貓數目之餘，亦能令居民對流浪貓「具攻擊性、愛到處翻垃圾」的印象改觀。
他希望事件純屬虛驚一場：「大家知道有貓懷疑被毒死，心中也不好過，無論如何，大家都不應將不滿發泄在牠們身上。」記者李凱琳

拯救流浪貓狗 寧棄高薪厚職

(星島日報 報道)流浪貓被人吊死、淋鏹水及打斷腿….。為控訴文明城市背後的暴戾行為，「阿晶」不惜放棄會計師樓工作，甘願被罵癡儍，無懼與丈夫反目，也要成為流浪貓狗的「拯救者」。她不分晝夜陰晴，遊走山林、工地，抱着對生命的執着，希望用餘下的時間和金錢，換動物一個未來。

五年前的一天，阿晶在住所附近目睹漁農署人員捕捉流浪貓，貓在籠內驚恐無助，她頓生惻隱之心。「與其殘忍捕殺牠們，何不為牠們絕育？」她自掏腰包花了五千多元，為這群貓做絕育手術，把牠們從鬼門關拯救出來。

出資絕育手術 免被捕殺

本來高薪厚職的阿晶，毅然放棄會計師樓工作，當起家庭教師，成為「香港貓咪俱樂部」義工。如此決定，原來只為了方便照顧流浪貓。她表示，區內流浪貓因已絕育，數目由三十多隻減至數隻，對此感到十分驕傲。

阿晶曬得一身古銅色肌膚，她笑言，自從告別朝九晚六生活，每天都會揹着乾糧，穿梭新界各區餵飼流浪動物。她的足迹踏遍烏煙瘴氣的工業區、樹木茂密的鄉村郊野，「每到一處，我都會貼上免費絕育告示，宣傳為動物絕育的好處！」

動物義工經常要四出奔走，因而「斷六親、結仇家」的個案多不勝數，阿晶自言也難逃「厄運」，「我因為照顧區內流浪動物惹來鄰居不滿，也曾被鄉民追打，甚至丈夫也不喜歡我現在做的事……。」

然而，阿晶並未氣餒，上月開始更主動聯絡傳媒，希望揭發人類虐待流浪動物的惡行，並宣揚免費絕育計畫。「與其殘忍捕殺牠們，何不為牠們絕育？」

由於貓隻的繁殖速度快，阿晶須與時間競賽，記者採訪當日，她又出動「打游擊」，與另一名村民義工「陳伯」，走到大欖聯安新邨郊野，打算徹夜守候，尋找未絕育的流浪貓。

斷六親結仇家 與夫反目

苦候四個多小時，阿晶捉到九隻流浪貓，其中五隻可以進行絕育，其餘的因年紀太輕，須暫時送到貓場照顧。「雖然經費有限，但為牠們着想，只好先代為照顧，待有心人出現。」

黑夜漸漸籠罩荒涼的鄉村小巷，阿晶站在暗紅色的街燈下，繼續等待流浪貓出現，她明白自己的力量只是微乎其微，但堅信「當集合每人小小的力量，就能做到超乎想像的東西！」

Animal Cruelty – Kwai Chung

Dear All,

We found a cat whose leg was seriously broken by a person in Kwai Chung. Residents have told us that there are many cats tortured and abused by Parkistans (this is how the residents described the people doing these terrible crimes).

The cat, now named Mimi, is being treated by Pet n Vet in Kowloon Shing. The surgery requires a few thousands and unfortunately we do not have all the funds. If Mimi does not have this surgery, he may not be able to walk again.

小野貓疑遭印巴漢打斷腳

(星島日報 報道)瘦弱的流浪小貓「咪咪」，在葵涌 疑被印巴漢殘酷虐待，貓腳遭活生生打斷，膝蓋與大腿幾乎分離，常駐該區的貓義工及時發現，將牠送動物醫院治理；貓義工怒斥施虐者惡行外，更認為政府必須加強宣傳動物權益，避免助長虐畜歪風。

將「咪咪」送往獸醫救治的香港貓咪俱樂部幹事黃小姐稱，貓義工早前在葵涌區巡視，發現一隻寄居於區內跌打鋪的雄性流浪貓「咪咪」，遭人打傷致腳斷骨裂，義工追問跌打鋪老闆周先生，方知「咪咪」上周出外玩耍，曾失蹤兩天，回來時腳部重創。由於周先生屬小本經營不能承擔巨額手術費，只能以跌打技術來替小貓治療，但義工見「咪咪」傷勢危急，決定將牠送往動物醫院。

咪咪」手術費需數千元

黃小姐稱，「咪咪」愛到附近工廠區流連，該處有不少印巴人士工作，懷疑虐貓事件與他們有關，「曾經有街坊目睹印巴漢追打流浪貓，直至皮開肉裂，甚至只剩頭顱的貓屍，非常可怕。」她怒斥施虐者毫無人性，正考慮尋求警方和有關機構援助。

她透露，醫治「咪咪」的手術費需要數千元，但貓兒危在旦夕，故決定先救貓，至今仍要為手術費用而煩惱；黃又表示，其組織為流浪貓免費絕育和提供治療，單靠善心人士的捐款運作，因收入不穩如今已出現赤字。

根據現行法例，虐待動物可判罰款五千元及監禁六個月，遠低於歐美國 家。

以英國

為例，至今已頒布二十多條關於動物福利的法例和條文，包括不可將動物當作禮物，送給十六歲以下兒童，及加重對遺棄動物和宰殺的刑罰。

Animal Cruelty – Tuen Mun

Dear All,

A cat, Fafa was almost killed by a very nasty, cold blooded person in Tuen Mun last week.  The person spread strong acid on Fafa and her kitten and almost 60% of Fafa’s skin is seriously burnt.

We sent Fafa to Victorian Vet Clinic in Tuen Mun for treatment and the vet has taken off all her dead skin.  She is getting better and is staying at a pet shop to recover.  Her kitten is being fostered by Mrs Leung and thankfully Fafa’s kitten only had one of her front legs slightly burnt.

We really need help in rehoming Fafa and her kitten, as well as help with the vet bill, which is over 3,000HDK.

冷血殺手鏹水淋貓

本報訊】屯門驚現淋鏹水貓殺手！一頭流浪母貓與其兩頭小貓，慘遭狂徒淋鏹水嚴重灼傷，其中一頭死亡，有老婦可憐兩貓遍體鱗傷，籌借醫藥費將牠們救回。事件引起愛貓網民憤慨，直斥兇徒「人渣」，且懸紅緝兇，他們並稱已向警方報案。

近日有網民在討論區發表多幅貓隻受傷照片，據網上資料，受傷的是母貓，在兆康苑對開麒麟圍流浪生活，早前誕下兩頭小貓，三口日前被發現身上遍布水泡及嚴重脫毛，其中一小貓已死亡，母貓及另一小貓奄奄一息，村內一名婆婆於心不忍，雖然經濟拮据，不惜向親友籌借醫藥費，把牠們送往寵物診所救治。

獸醫證實兩貓疑被淋通渠水，治療後檢回一命，母貓寄住寵物店，小貓由義工照顧。網上資料稱狂徒疑是村內一對五十餘歲夫婦，相信趁母貓餵奶時下毒手。

About 10,000 dogs and 4,000 cats are put down each year by the government, it was revealed yesterday as lawmakers discussed a proposal to regulate the pet trade. During a food safety and environmental hygiene panel meeting in the Legislative Council, undersecretary for food and health Gabriel Leung said the government hoped to tighten control of the sources of dogs offered for sale, for public health and animal welfare reasons.

Legislative Councillor Cyd Ho Sau-lan asked how many animals were destroyed by the government, adding that it would be odd to put animals down but do nothing to control breeding.

Man Charged With Murder of Cats

Dear All,

The man in the video asked us to help trap the stray cats in Lam Tei of Tuen Mun, where he lives.

On the 17 and 22 April 2009 we trapped 11 cats and had them desexing, then we returned them to Lam Tei. Upon returning them we gave the man at food so he could feed the cats. While there, he told us he has strangled 2 cats because they snuck into his kitchen and ate his food. He then dumped their bodies in the rubbish bin on 1st May 09.

We reported this to the police yesterday and he was arrested and charged with murder of cats.
